Welcome from The MBAA President
Why Diversity is Important to Fuqua
Welcome to Fuqua!
Arguably, the most valuable experiences we have at Fuqua are interactions with peers who come from backgrounds different than our own. The world is getting smaller. In order to be effective leaders in the emerging business world it is critical that we engage with diverse viewpoints across cultures, nations, interests, backgrounds, ethnicities, and persuasions. Diversity comes in all forms at Fuqua and integration is a cornerstone of the Team Fuqua culture. We do not just have diverse students here, but rather our students actively embrace diversity as a core strength in the classroom, across student organizations, and through collaboration in events.
First year Integrated Learning (ILE) Teams purposefully combine students in as diverse groupings as possible, mixing professional backgrounds, skill sets, cultures, and experiences. Students learn how to cooperate amongst teammates who come from radically different perspectives offering a rich and complex learning experience. This is the advantage that Fuqua has for anyone who wishes to prepare to be a leader in a dynamic global business environment. Diversity at Fuqua brings a richer, and more meaningful, component to the business school experience. It serves us now as students in the classroom, and will serve us in the future when we are global business leaders.
