Housing Options
Business school is academically very challenging, and you will also find that extracurricular commitments will also take a lot of time and energy. To that end, it is important to have a living space that allows you to relax, build relationships with classmates, and allow you some personal time away from the hustle and bustle of Fuqua. There are a wide range of housing options available in the Durham area. Many students live in the Station 9 apartment complex. This is where many of the “unofficial” Fuqua parties take place, and it is a great way to live near classmates. However, there are other options that still have lots of Fuqua students, but have environments that are a bit more quiet. These options include Alexan Place, Addington Farms, and Alexan Garrett Farms. Other great options include West Village, The Lofts, and Trinity Commons. Believe it or not, there are also students who live in other nearby nice apartment complexes (such as Colonial Grand at Patterson Place) that have only one or two other Fuqua students Furthermore, some students rent houses in the local community and have one or two Fuqua roommates. Whatever option you choose, be sure to choose what is right for YOU. Your ideal living situation might not be the same as many of the people you have met thus far. Thus, try to avoid “following the herd” if you don’t think an option is the right fit for you. Remember, you want your living experience to help you recharge for the rigors of school. For some, that perfect place will be Station 9; for others it will be Alexan Place or renting a townhouse with roommates. We wish you the best as you embark on your journey of securing housing.
